OUR FIRST POST

Creative Adventures with Textiles Group has now been meeting since June 2016.  We are at present a small group of people who enjoy all aspects of textile work, sharing our skills within the group.  Our skills are varied and range from members who are beginning to learn new skills to a number of members who have gained City and Guilds Diploma in Embroidery and Design. We meet on a monthly basis on the fourth Saturday of each month, at present for 4 hours in the afternoon but hope to increase these hours to six, extra hours will help when workshops are being run meaning members will have more opportunity to complete the items they are working with. Gracious Street Church Hall is our meeting venue, using the Dales Room on the first floor. We have had a dye workshop at Clifton, Otley village Hall, which was very successful members going home with lots of colorful fabrics and threads. A few examples of the dye day.

April Meeting

Today was a half day meeting with everyone stitching their current project; knitting, blackwork,design samples, felt mouse, weaving, embroidery to name some, sorry no photos today. On display were some of the small canvases we began last month which were displayed on a cream mount board quite a mixture of ideas, faces, flowers and abstract designs.  There was also show and tell of woven wool for a commission, details of a collar, a dressed felt rabbit.  Plus books from committee members Nudinits which amused everyone, the Right Handed stitch book and Mountmellick. A reminder to everyone that there is only one meeting remaining in Knaresborough and the move to our new venue in Harrogate at Bilton Community Centre begins on 9 June, we will now meet on the second Saturday of the month except for July. 26 May full day at Knaresborough Workshop with Catherine - Calico gardens Bilton Community Centre 9 June afternoon 1.00 to 4.30 All travelling journals returned and owner to take ho...

NOVEMBER MEETING REMINDER - DIFFERENT START TIME

The Knitting and Stitch Show will be taking place at the weekend and I hope this will not deter members from attending our day workshop to create Wild Woman Dolls led by Linda M.  We will begin at 10.00 finishing at 4.00 in our usual room on the first floor of Gracious Street Methodist Church Hall.
