March Meeting in Progress

Image
I Linda gave us all an introduction to working on small canvases.  She described the technique and showed us examples for ideas on progressing our work. See our efforts  at lunchtime: We hope to see lots of finished canvases in April. Look out for the finished items in our August exhibition at FEVA.

February Meeting

We had a wonderful afternoon meeting today, everyone brought along items they were working at present. There was a variety of embroidery techniques being carried out , a felt mouse being made, discussions around next month when we will all work together to make a joint item to be exhibited at FEVA in August.  Linda has bought small square canvases for members to decorate with stitch, paint, beads, fabric, whatever you feel happy to use. A request for ideas to decorate our Christmas tree at the end of the year at the Tree Festival was made to members, in previous years we have had cats, Angels, in the first year we decorated with a mixture of items.  We need something unique to set our tree apart. 2017  tree in situ at the church.

C.A.T.s Tree for the Festival

Image
I bought a tree yesterday for our entry to St Johns Christmas Tree Festival which begins on Saturday 2- 10 December daily from 10 until 4.  It will be well worth a visit if you are in Knaresborough on these dates, last year there were almost 100 trees.  There will also be a Christmas market in the centre of town on 2-3 December, lots to do around town if you visit and the weather is predicted to be fine, how about a walk by the river after visiting the church, or a coffee and cake in the church hall. The picture shows my first attempt at putting the tree together, it will look different when it is in place, as I will need to dress it at the church tomorrow. Thank you to all members who contributed by making a cat to go onto the tree, beautiful work from everyone.  I will post new pics from the church later in the week.
